beautify your bathroom...

During these times of the credit crunch, we are all having to cut back on our spending, and while you may not be able to afford to that new bathroom or kitchen you've been after, there are still things we can do to spruce things up while not spending much. Its all about accessorizing! Sometimes a plain bathroom can look boring, even clinical, when what it should be is luxurious! somewhere where you can have a long hot bath and actually enjoy your surroundings....
Candles are a must, and more important than the candle itself is the candle holder... to get the luxurious feel I personally love neutral tones, silver & rustic gold.
These candle holders (£18) from Plumo are really pretty...
Really focussing on the details can make such a difference, and thats why I love the 'Blue tit' cast iron toilet roll holder (£9) from Lavender and Sage...
And I am especially in love with these storage jars (prices below) from Graham and Green... keep all your unsightly bits and bobs hidden away!
Small jar - £13.75
Large jar - £18.75
Add to this some of your fave bubble bath and a nice glass of wine, and enjoy an evening of bathroom luxury! x

Style with some punch!

As the party season approaches, you may be thinking of holding a little soiree yourself, and Garden Trading have just the thing to make sure your party stays stylish....
enter... the retro enamel punch bowl!Fitted with a dispenser, it will prevent the spills you normally incur with drunken guests trying to dip their glasses into the bowl, although you will inevitably have the joker who tries to drink straight from the tap!!
It can hold cold and hot drinks, so could also be used for mulled wine at Christmas... yum.

spelling it out...

Today I am came across a website whose products I am now in love with!
Jonny’s Sister makes beautiful handmade 'love letters' ... From large fabric versions to letters made from soap to bunting spelling out a name or message of your choice...

These would make such great gifts, whether it is a wedding gift, a new baby, christening, birthday or Christmas, they are really personal, and there is something to fit every budget... some of my friends and family will definitely be finding a 'love letter' in their stocking this Christmas!

don't be a doormat...

For those times when you do have to venture out into the cold & wet weather, there are some great door mats around for when you return to stop you and your family from traipsing dirt & mud through the house - practical and pretty! A nice mat will add colour and interest to the outside of your house or flat, and here are just a few that I am loving....
1. Pink Narla Doormat £16 - Oliver Bonas
2. New England Doormat £18 - Velvet
3. Extra Large Doormat £55 - Garden Trading
4. Dots Doormat £26 - Heals

long winter nights....

Last night the clocks went back one hour, and as the dark nights fold in around us, the desire to stay inside and snuggle up on the sofa becomes increasingly appealing... therefore what more could you need than a cosy, comforting throw, rug or quilt... And in keeping with the title of my blog, I have came across some beautiful patchwork quilts from An Angel at my Table
The Boho Pink quilt (£135) - pictured below, is a traditional style patchwork quilt, but here shows how it can look great even in a more modern interior....

Check out the bed linen section of their website for other beautiful patchwork quilts....
