Baileys Home & Garden

Today I've been putting together a wish list of things I want from Baileys Home & Garden. I just love the simplicity of their products, they are the kind of household items that will always be useful and will never go out of style.

Here are some of my picks, although I could easily order everything if I could!!

I also have their fantastic book - Recycled Home - which has some beautiful photography by Debi Treloar, and demonstrates how amazing the recycled look can work in the home - once you've seen this book you'll be skipping off down to your local dump to see what you can recycle!

Check out their website here to see some pictures from the book.

sofa obsessed!

Less than 2 weeks until we move into our new house and we currently have nothing to sit on when we get there! So all I can think about is sofas! I never thought it would be this hard to choose, but as such a large purchase I want to make sure I get it right! Plus the dimensions of our lounge are restricting our choices, so we can't get the huge deep one we originally wanted, and have to look at some more compact options.... but hey means I get to browse through lots of pics of nice living rooms to get inspiration!! Something similar to one of these would be nice! x

I think our plan is too mix a fabric sofa with a nice vintage leather chair or sofa... I'll let you know how we get on! Although it may not be finished for quite a while! ;)

books... All in the Detail

Today was firstly, a relieving and secondly, an exciting day, as the other half and I have just exchanged on our new (and first) home! And will be moving in 2 weeks! I am now in a total frenzy as I can finally get down to picking out furniture, colours, fabrics and accessories!

I'm diving into all my interiors books, and thought I'd share some beautiful inspiration from All in the Detail...

Even though I am not quite at the stage of adding the finishing touches (!) this book is full of so many gorgeous pictures it is still filling me with ideas for the general style I hope to get...

The book focuses on the things that we display around the home - china, glassware, mirrors, soft furnishings, art, flowers etc, and shows how best to create an elegant and stylish look which is still affordable....

I think this might be one of my faves, I love those pastel chairs, and how the mismatch plates have been displayed....

New Designs inspired by Nature

Another post in my little series from the New Designers show! There was so much lovely stuff I've had to split it all up!
Alongside the themes of Nostalgia I showed in a recent post, I felt that much of the work was inspired by nature and our natural environment.
The designers who stood out for me were....

Firstly, Phillipa Leith....

Phillipa's work is delicate and intricate and I love the vintage feel it has... I could just imagine the top pic in a lovely little frame on the wall! The discreet customisation of the vintage plate is also lovely.

A very different take on the theme of nature from Claire Hollinshead, I love the quirky fun style of these plates! I think they would actually look sweet in a childs room...

And finally, Holley Woodhouse, who designs textiles such as cushions, placemats & napkins, and takes inspiration from birds, gardens and garden accessories.... I love the seat pads for the garden

I can't wait to hopefully see more from all the new designers who exhibited this year! watch this space!

Beautifully romantic photography from Yvette Inufio

The other day I came across the photography of Yvette Inufio on the Whole Lotta Lovely blog and totally fell in love with it... The colours and tones are so romantic, calming and relaxing...

I'd love some of her work for my wall, perhaps a series of small prints or one printed up large... luckily you can order her prints from her Etsy shop! Check it out
here. I'm not sure how I'd ever choose though!!

Yvette also has a lovely blog with a name so perfectly matched to her style of photography - Morning Light in my Room... how lovely, make sure to have a look and keep up to date on her new work. To see more of her photography, visit her flickr page, if you're anything like me you'll end up going through all 41 pages!
