A different kind of Interior

This is not the usual kind of interior shots I post on here, but when I came across this set of images by Irish photographer David Creedon I had to share. 'Ghosts of the Faithful Departed' show the many homes in Ireland which were left behind in the 1950's when the countries population dropped to 2.8million, the lowest ever recorded.
They were recently exhibited at the Photofusion gallery in London, so gutted to have missed that!
They are so haunting and beautiful at the same time, and the rich colours and lighting are stunning....
Check out the rest of the images and more of David's work on his website.

  1. So beautiful. I love peeling paint! The colours in the Mary photo are beautiful

  2. 'Wow', how strange though to see beauty in something that is actually so... so... sad, but at the same time you really can't ignore the honest beauty of what's captured in the photographs.

When looking at them I feel a kind of mixed emotion.

Thanks for sharing, it's nice to see something different and something that provokes a different way of thinking when viewing something so pretty.

    Lucy xx
