Rediscovered Treasures

So I think I've just found my first favourite book of 2011! 'Rediscovered Treasures  - A New Life for Old Objects' is filled with great new uses and craft projects for found items such as vintage plates, tins, fabric, jelly moulds and picture frames to name a few! It is written by Ellen Dyrop and Hanna Kristinsdottir, and was first published in Norwegian, and now the English translation has just been published by New Holland Publishers! yay!

 

Some of my favourite projects are making a magnetic notice board, from an old frame and some magnetic metal - then adding small magnets to the back of tin moulds! so simple and so lovely....

Or the old vintage tin turned into a clock... genius! 

I love how the book is laid out - it is not too wordy - just short, concise descriptions with each picture, and then at the back of the book there are numerous more detailed instructions on the more complicated projects along with templates for the projects using fabrics.  And also a helpful directory for craft supplies too!

oh, and the best thing is it is only £6.19 on Amazon at the minute! It would be rude not too really!
