ReplyDeleteOooh I'd love to own a copy of this book! I love the Homespun look as it is a warm, personal and fun way to decorate your home. When we move home this is the way I'm decorating every room! Laura.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful ideas for personalising your place! A lovely mix of modern and vintage. I just love it! Helen, thebusymamas@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI love the homespun style as every piece tells a story and there is so much care and effort in each item :-)
ReplyDeleteI love the personal touch and because my bank balance won't stretch to decorating my new place, I'd love to learn how to do it myself. I don't want me home to look like everyone else's and this book looks like it's full of ideas
ReplyDeleteTo create a homespun look in your home will inspire both you and others that visit, each homemade piece creates a memory and story that will be passed on through generations. It is a style that can never be replicated and even the bad stitching or wonky embellishment is seen as unique and quirky which is unforgettable. Homespun items will always be cherished as the time and effort that has been given to something to create fond thoughts of granny's past! Homespun creativeness is something everyone should try as it gives you a great spence of achievement!
ReplyDeleteThis book is been on my wishlist! The homespun style is just the right mix of cosiness, prettiness and quirckiness (if that word even exist)for me I suppose...
ReplyDeleteOH! I've been wanting this book!!! Looks super cute, fun, and practical!
ReplyDeleteThis is still on my wish list, so I would love to win this!!!
ReplyDeleteWhatever takes your fancy and makes your home a happy, warm and welcoming one are the most important ingredients for achieving a 'homespun style'.
ReplyDeleteI love the eclectic style - its reminiscent of the homely furnishings that were around the house when I was growing up. Now, with 2 daughters of my own, I take every opportunity to try and relive the happy childhood I had, for them. It's also about being unique and making your house a home - a place you look forward to coming back to and making it a relaxed and fun place to live. It's not always easy when you have a husband who's a bit of a minimalist - so I need this book to show him the way! 3 girls against 1 boy now... ;)

Deletethank you!
Homespun/homegrown. I moved several months ago and finally have gotten unpacked and my "stuff" arranged. I've lots of textiles that I've made and vintage furniture that I've refurbished; yesterday I realized I was home and a large part of that was the homespun feeling of old tyme, tomatoes in the kitchen that I've grown, upcycled, etc.
Deletep.s. I'd love a copy of the book, gazorna _at_ gmail _dot_ com
I am glad I found 91 magazine. I had a blast reading it. The Homespun Style pictures left me in reverie! I love the homespun style because is so colorful, lovely, and the mix of patterns make me smile. You left me wanting to see more. :)
ReplyDeleteI love to create something that is totally me! My nana used to have piles of fabric and craft things around, as well as lovely collections and many a happy hour was spent enjoying them. Now I'm older I've realised 'big box store design' just isn't for me and I'm working to create a more authentic and unique space to live in.
ReplyDeleteI'd love the book to be inspired by!
Barbara
I love the Homespun Style because of the shabby soft colors, and gently-worn look, that is a product of many years gone by.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading 91 Magazine. The photography is beautiful and the articles were very interesting.
The homespun looks is just personal, creatively fun and unique. email rivera79mi@yahoo.com

ReplyDeleteThank you for the opportunity to win Homespun Style!
ReplyDeleteOur home is filled with repurposed, restored and reloved items & the best compliment for us is to be told "it feels like HOME" when our friends visit...this is what Homespun means to me ♥
This look is so unpretentious accessible! You can piece it together organically from thrift stores and flea markets without even having a particularly crafty background. And, the colors are such a feast for the eyes!

Thank you for a wonderful giveaway. I love the homespun look because it is accessible. The look is doable on a budget and a family can live in it happily. Who needs decor that can't be touched and loved.

I love having things around the house that I've made/upcycled and know that nobody else has the same thing. I always get the most compliments on these special things! Sonia
ReplyDeleteI'm French, and I've only just discovered the phrase "homespun" and it feels so natural to me - I love the cheerfulness and simplicity of it. I'd love to win the book, and signed too! Thank you for the give away.

I love home spun style, and have been decorating my space like this for years, out of pure necessity and a love for old things, good on you Selina Lake!
ReplyDeleteThe Home Spun Style is a little fashionable, but not on account of Indian girls, sitting in a shop and sowing from daybreak till dawn. No, I sit behind my own sewing machine, swearing a little bit because of the turnout that is't exactly like I wanted it to be, but I made it myselve. And Selina Lake has so many nice ideas, the book would be a great help!
ReplyDeleteI aim for a homespun style because it's always interesting and unique. It's a style that allows you to keep adding to it so news crafts & trinkets can fit right in. It creates a nice welcoming environment for guests & it's a lots more fun for them too as there's so much more to look at & explore.
ReplyDeleteI adore Selina's other books and am hoping to add this to my library. I have been decorating with home spun style forever! What I love most is the use of color. It makes me so happy!!
ReplyDeleteWhy I love Homespon Style? Because I appreciate the individuality of each interior and I think in a perfect minimalist interior, one can not feel at home. And what you produce yourself pleased most..

It's colourful, it's homemade and it's a one-off. And always made with love. Dalia (dalrmk@gmail.com)
ReplyDeleteOooh I would love a copy of Homespun style. I like the homespun style because it is so individual and says a lot about each of us as a person. Plus I love playing around with fabric and vintage things, it is so much fun. Nicola xx
ReplyDeleteMe, me me, please!!! :D I would love a copy of Homespun Style. And why I love it?, because it gives you tranquility and harmony, it makes you feel happy all the time.

I love Homespun style because its a way for your own personality, story, history and aesthetic to shine through. It's not a bought-from-a-box look but a style that lets the history of a vintage piece, mix with a fresh color choice of today. It lets old become new, and new get a little bit scratched up. The style encourage experimentation and creation and I support it 100%! I love a look that lets someone experience inspiration to create and make-and that's what I think homespun style does. This looks like a lovely book that I would love to explore more!

Homespun Style is a low-pressure, high-inspiration glimpse into the limitless out-of-the-box possibilities one has before them in decorating any space. The whimsical and intuitive color schemes ignite the imagination and the tastefully pieced-together look of the rooms made me believe that this level of fabulous decorating will be attainable to me even on my limited budget.
ReplyDeleteI've gazed at this book more than a few at times at the book store and will definitely be purchasing it soon if I don't win this contest first!

I love Homespun Style because it is an accessible and achievable style. It indulges my love for owning things that have a story already and celebrates my own capacity to create a beautiful space. I am the designer in my own home and I can do it how I want. I love this book because of the visual inspiration I draw from it and because imperfection is perfectly allowable. x
ReplyDeleteI want my home to reflect the feelings I have for the people who live there and those who come to visit - so I want it to make folk feel comfortable, at ease, nurtured, loved and reassured of their welcome and the pleasure I take in their company. Homespun style achieves all of this and more...
ReplyDeletethere is just something so down to earth and simple about the homespun style which can fit into anyone's homelife.

The homespun style reminds me of family. Cozy warmth around the home. Entertaining family and friends at the dinner table and sharing funny stories and filling the room with laughter. It also comforts the tears. Homespun is the simplicity of life.
